A new gateway that carries a national identity and a modern security regime at once: clear access, organised flow and a first impression that lasts.

The main gate is the first building a traveller meets and the last one they leave through. We drew it as a single clear frame over the roadway, wide enough to organise lanes for cars, coaches and inspection, with a language of pale masonry and arched openings that reads as Basra rather than as a generic checkpoint. Lighting, signage and planting were designed with the structure, not added to it.
